I was wondering if anyone is using scheduling software to book their HPS sessions? I find that a great deal of my time is dedicated to the manual entering, sending confirmations etc. with regards to sessions being held in the lab. I am looking for a software product to assist me. My wishlist would include:
the ablility to set up the time frames that are available for simulation
sessions
faculty being able to access this calendar and enter their requests
once a faculty member requests a time, it is shown as booked and
confirmation is sent to both me and the faculty member involved.
I thought I visited a workshop at the last HPSN08 that discussed a program that tracked students registration and sent out reminders. I believe it was a facility in Florida, but I am not sure.
Any suggestions that can be offered would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Karen,
I went to the 9th International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare last month in Floridia and talked to a vendor that may have what your looking for scheduling purposes.
SimBridge is a server software to create a powerful and centralized center management solution. It helps to manage your scheduling, the users, courses, scenario's, evaluations and even generate usage and reports.
The company is B-Line Medical at www.blinemedical.com
Hope this helps. :)

Karen,
We use Outlook Express at Nationwide Children's for Simulation Scheduling.
I had our IS create a dedicated Email/Outlook Express acct for our Simulation Center.
The key operators were given Viewing privileges only in outlook and I manage the Schedule.
You can also view the new calendar name from your own Outlook by clicking: FILE-OPEN-OTHER USERS FOLDER - CALENDAR. Then both calendars appear on your screen. Works well if you use Outlook.

As part of METI's Learning Platform which is under development, the ability to schedule your simulation center in addition to management of learners will be part of it. More detail will be forthcoming from METI.
