I am looking for a download example of scenerio provider roles. and also an example of the confidentialty form students sign prior to simulation that includes consent to video tape.

Some of the common roles played by the learners include:
Primary Nurse
Charge Nurse
Medication Nurse
Treatment Nurse
Family Member

You can also have roles assigned as: RN, LPN (LVN), CNA, Family Member

Roles can be assigned to the learners by the instructor, or they can pick them randomly. Some have the students decide upon the roles they want to play after they get the introduction to the scenario.

Also attaching a sample of a generic confidentiality form. You can add a clause regarding the permission to be videotaped.

Hope this information is helpful.

Dear gwagner,

In the UK most universities that are using video with their simulation, incorporate the confidentiality clause at the beginning of the student's training to cover them for their whole university time - by using one form this covers all eventualities and is part of their university student code of behaviour. Also the lecturers write a Code of Conduct that is displayed that when videoing all tapes will be destroyed after use and they mention that "what occurs in simulation - stays in simulation"

This is another approach,

best wishes

Role playing,
I have created name tags with labeled roles Example: Nurse #1 , Nurse #2, Family member spouse, Respiratory Therapy, Primary Doctor, Covering Doctor, Friend, Caregiver, Observer. I color coded and put into clear plastic badge holders. Then I made specific roles for each one and put into the badge. If you want you can make a color cordinated cards to match the badges.

Hello,
I was fortunate enough to just have a PNCI workshop by METI and Kim Lieghton. She is adjunct facility for METI. This workshop tied all of my training together as she taught me how to apply shortcut applications and scenario/treatment overlays easier. We learned about debriefing and were given ideas to move forward and grow. If you have PNCI applications and want to use them to the fullest potential. I suggest a workshop that your Technician and faculty should be in as it helped us. Keep sharing your ideas online and we will benifit learning with with each other...
