We are using an AED on the PediaSim and we found that it arcs on defibrillation. We have removed the ECG stud and also replaced the defib pads after every session which is becoming expensive. Any ideas????

We "hard-wired" our mannequins by cutting the defib pads off of the wires and putting a disk-shaped electrical end-connector on each cable. We then simply attach the connector to the defib post by screwing the post through the disk with a washer between the disk and skin.
Be sure to mark which wire goes to the "heart" before cutting off the pads and do up a set for defib and another for pacing. Clearly labelling the connection to the monitor/defibrillator allows everyone to pick the right set of wires.
