Pleural volume - air leak?

I am using a Meti HPS. When I activate a pleural volume value to simulate a pneumothorax on either side I hear a continuous hissing from either an air leak or escape valve. Is this normal or should I further investigate the source of the leak?

The sound you are hearing is normal. There is a hose in the chest that is a bleeder valve; it is there to keep the lungs from over inflating, so they do not burst.
