We have been operating the ECS at our department for the past few months and are now looking at a new Bag-Valve-Mask. Our medical director would like this equipment evaluated on the simulator prior to it's use on the street.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get the most out of this testing phase or specific tests to try?

Well, when ventilated the ECS measures input flow and integrates that over time to volume. This volume is then fed back into the models to improve the SpO2. A "bad" seal around mouth will leak air, reducing volume, and reducing the efficacy of the resuscitation. This might lend well to tests comparing a current BVM with the new one....perhaps looking at a rate of rise in SpO2 given identical BVM methods.
If you have anything else in mind or are looking for something more specific perhaps one of our education and training professionals may be able to help you out. Your sales or customer support representative may be able to put you in touch with somebody who is available.
