Building Electronic Patients

As time move forward we are moving into electronic charting. I would like to share with everone that I had made several mock patients that can have labs, xrays, ABG's what ever needed last year. The medical professionals can chart on them as they would a real patient. The system we have in place is Cerner. However, prior to them be added I built them in EXCEL, WORD, and Power Point then I saved them in a PDF file. They cannot be changed however the could add anything they wanted and when done it would not overwrite so I could start over. You don't need anything fancy to accomplish the objective just the basics. I now have a crew that if I ask them to build patients they will. I thank them for helping out with simulation and this has increased my buy-in. Here is another level of realism to add is have lab call values, Respiratory Therapy call ABGS, X-ray, or if you have volunteers give them scripts to call. You have to be creative in simulation!!!
