The METI SurgicalSIM LTS is a self-contained, patent-pending system for testing and training basic skills for laparoscopic surgery. This simulator has been extensively tested by the academic surgery community and is
intended to provide a convenient, consistent and realistic means for assessing a surgeon's basic skill level. The advantage of SurgicalSIM LTS is that it combines both the Haptics-based skills found in a box trainer with the objective assessment capability of virtual-reality systems.
